Saxophonist - Arranger - Teacher
Australian saxophonist Mary Osborn is currently based in Paris. She completed her Masters of Music with a “mention très bien” at the Conservatorium of Versailles, studying under Vincent David. Mary is forming her career as a classical and contemporary performer, arranger and teacher.
Mary has won numerous awards at international music competitions, such as Andorra SaxFest, Gisborne International Music Competition, Adolphe Sax Competition in Castelbuono
She has had the opportunity to work closely with many composers and premiered a variety of works, and enjoys developing multi-disciplinary projects. Since 2019 she has performed in the paris-based contemporary ensemble Ensemble Dynamique as saxophonist and co-founder. In 2021 she formed a saxophone trio, Ensemble Empreintes, who are supported by Henri Selmer Paris.
In 2022 Mary co-founded the Australian Saxophone Quartet (ASxQ) with Joshua Hyde, Joseph Lallo and Yo-yo Su, an ensemble combining leading australian saxophonists dedicated to the creation and sharing of Australian music.
Mary recorded two CDs with the saxophone ensemble SaxoVoce working with renowned musician Jean-Yves Fourmeau and composers Thierry Escaich, Karol Beffa and Olivier Kaspar.
Mary is also an avid arranger and has published her arrangements of the Tallahatchie Concerto by JacobTV.
She is currently the saxophone teacher at the Conservatoire Municipal de Musique et de Danse Claude Debussy - Corbeil Essonnes and the coordinator, music theory and saxophone teacher at the Amicale de Villabé.
