Ensemble Empreintes is a collective of 3 saxophonists, alumni of some the greatest regional conservatories in France and Australia (Versailles, Cergy, Paris and Sydney). They each have extensive experience in chamber music. They are laureates of the International Music Competition of Paris ni 2022. The ensemble formed in 2021 for their first project, comprising arrangements and premiering new works, combining heritage and modernity.
Heritage, the ensemble forged itself in wind trios (oboe, clarinet and bassoon), rediscovering existing repertoire whilst exploring the rich sonority of saxophones from soprano to baritone. (Poulenc, Tansman, Zelenka, Flégier, Decruck, Ibert…) These works are arranged primarily by Mary Osborn.
Modernity, the ensemble expands and varies depending on projects, and they have had pieces from vastly different universes dedicated to them, including compositions by Victor Herbiet, Jean-Philippe Dartois and Geoffrey Secco.

Some of their current projects for 2022-2023 include premiering quartets by and with Canadian composer and saxophonist, Victor Herbiet and a saxophone quartet, piano and voice project surrounding Ennio Morricone’s music.
